10 Handy Items For a DIY Solar Panel

One of the main components of a residential solar power system is the solar panel. The panels will normally make up to about 60 percent of the total system cost. To save money, many people will build the panel on their own.
If you are planning to make your own solar panel, the supporters are 10 handy items you will need.
1) Saw – The saw will be second-hand to cut the plywood or wood strips into the right size. You can use either a regular saw or an electric powered saw.
2) Caulk gun – The calk gun will be used to squeeze the caulk out of the tube. The calk will then be familiar on all the wooden joints to prevent moisture seepage.
3) Screwdriver – A handy tool to tighten or loosen the stainless steel screws on the clear Plexiglas cover of the solar panel.
4) Protective eye wear – A very essential safety tool to guard your eyes as soon as you are cutting pieces of wood or soldering solar cells concurrently.
5) Soldering gun – This gear will be used to melt the solder so it can be used to solder the solar cells electrodes together.
6) Paint brush – The paint bush will be second-hand to put on the PV protective paint on the wood surfaces. The paint will protect the wood from the UV of the sun.
7) Flux – The flux is familiar although you are doing soldering. It will clean the hot tip of the solder gun and at the same time, make it easier for the melted solder to slide off the hot tip.
Multi-meter – This is an essential tool to check the working condition of the Photovoltaic (PV) cells. The multi-meter will survey the voltage and current of the cells as soon as exposed to sun light.
9) Gloves – Another protecting gear to secure your hand and fingers if cutting wood pieces. Not wearing gloves will exposed your finger to splinters from the wood.
10) Knife – The knife will be second-hand to cut the Plexiglas in to the right size. It can also be second-hand to strip off the nonconductor of a copper wire.
